Wayward Mouse

Every now and then, my mouse stops working in Word. I just deal with it...for several days. Then, it starts to irritate me and I remember that it happened before and that I googled the problem and found some fix. The problem is I can't ever remember what the fix was. So, this time, I decided to type it up:

Delete the Word Data registry key.
Word 2007: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Word\Data

Then, restart Word. Voila! Magic Mouse

Just a note here: this time, in addition to my mouse not working, I couldn't open Word files without going into Word and choosing file open. Double-clicking a word file from Explorer wasn't working; neither was opening a Word file from Outlook. Deleting the Data key solved this problem as well.
